Re: Ignition Coil Replacement Procedure (shown with 2003 Ast
I never did this swap, completely forgot. I now have 224000 on original. My thought is its a part that rarely fails, so they bracketed in place with little access because it should need replaced. However for us, who keep these vans running far longer than most anyone would dream, we need to swap thi...

Re: 1986 GMC 1987 Chevy No High Speed Fan Blower Motor
Mine is a '98, but I've been chasing this problem for a few years as well. I wasn't aware of these links , expecting my year has them as well. I'll inspect them this weekend, thanks for the information. Mavens, you asked if they are repairable , short answer is no . But they are easily replaceable ....

Re: Time for new shocks
AstroPhysics, This has been my experience as well. I prefer rubber, smoother ride.
I've been looking up parts; not great for Astro, attempting Blazer or S10. Are they same, I think yes.

stupid blower repairs, on and on.
I've replaced the blower resister thing 3 times, once with a new fan too. Once again, the top speed does not work and we have to slam the dash whenever it stops blowing. Slam, slam, slam and it starts up again.
Advice, direction please…

Time for new shocks
Per my signature, we need to replace the old Edlebrock IAS shocks, so many miles. We want a smooth ride, but capable. Thinking of ProComp due to price, any recommendations?

Re: bucking when cold
So many miles later, the problem returned and became worse. It bucks when idling along, such as when on cruise control on freeway. Basically, it's noticeable when no or little fuel is being supplied. With this determination, I finally figured it out and 100% fixed it. The distributor was worn and ne...

Re: CLUNK, when making a turn?
50k, maybe so. We bought this new in '98, and it's always been my goal to reach 300k. We've had a few repairs along the way, to be expected, but we're at 220k and see no reason why we can't hit 300k. Honestly, this thing runs super quiet and is reliable in every respect. Great purchase, no regrets.

Re: CLUNK, when making a turn?
I looked back through my receipts and see about 50k ago, when I had a shop swap my ring and pinion, they recommended a new right axle. I said "no". Honestly, I didn't believe them, guess I should have. I guess it needed replaced and some bearings too. UGH! Thinking more about this, an axle...
