Re: np136 vs np236

Thanks guys) Now I definitely see the difference) Captn. Crunch, believe in yourself and you will do it! Probably you will be the first person who has done this kind of modernization. It will be great if you post a report (with pictures) of the modernization, when you finish it. Maybe someone will f...

Re: np136 vs np236

I found pictures with disassembled view of NP136 and NP236 in the Internet. They have equal mechanical details. I would say they are the same. Maybe those pictures are mistaken, but if no it means that NP136 can use low range. It is not used by TCCM. For this reason, it is not necessarily to swap tr...

Re: lift options?

Thanks for the replies) I forgot to write about tires. I suppose the most suitable tires for this lift is 225/75R16. They are taller than 235/75R15. And they may fit without cutting. And as option shock absorbers Rancho. Does anybody know it is a big difference between Rancho 5000, 7000, 9000? I kno...

Re: lift options?

Hello everyone! Improving of some cars features usually causes decreasing of reliability. So, I'd like to improve off-road ability. Particularly, install 2" sub-frame spacers and rear leaf springs Chevy S10, and jack stock torsions bars up to 1". It gives 3-4" rear lift and 3" fr...

Re: Quest for another 2 speed w/AWD transfer case

Thanks all for answers. So if I want real 4WD I should change the transfer case and axles. In this way I should choose transfer case. Nevertheless I want all-time drive mode and electric shifting. Only one TC fits to this parameters - NV244. It has AWD, 4WD-hi, 4WD-low, neutral. Is it possible to in...

Re: Quest for another 2 speed w/AWD transfer case

there are many different AWD systems from mechanical to fluid to electronic. AWD in most cases is a misnomer as is 4WD; neither provides traction to all four wheels but rather 2: one front and one rear. The primary difference, again in most cases, between AWD (also known as full time 4WD) and 4WD (...

Re: Quest for another 2 speed w/AWD transfer case

Hello everyone! I would like to know Is there real difference between AWD & 4WD? I know the theory, but I can't compare these systems in real life. I drive Isuzu with 4WD Part-time now. This car gets stuck when two wheels are slipping (one is on front axle and one is on rear axle). When AWD car ...
