32x11.5 BFG Mud Terrains ....Will they fit?

Post by 97CargoCrawler »

Hey folks! Just wondering if anyone has run 32x11.5 BFG Mud Terrains with Overlands 4-5" lift on a 2wd van. I just purchased 4 new BFG 235-75's 2 months ago and really wish I had gone bigger. Can't afford to buy another set that I can't return so I figure I had better ask.

My proposed spec's:
1997 2WD Safari
2" body blocks, 3" HD front coils, rear add-a-leafs and Overland shackles
15x8" Pro Comp Allloys with 3.75" backspacing and -19mm offset
1997 SAFARI 2WD CARGO

Nope. 30-31 inchers will prolly rub a bit here & there unless you take out the hammer or grinder to places like the rear of the front wheelwells. Also, I don't think a 11.5 inch tire is approved for use on an 8" rim. However, I believe I've been corrected by Dean on this in the past.
I'm running 325/60 R-15's which comes out to roughly 31" x 12.5. Custom rims up front, 5" welded steel bodylift spacers on the subframe and 5" blocks out back. It's fine for street driving, never rubs. I dunno what'd happen off-road, though :-k

The 8" wheel is fine. The 32's will fit if you hammer the hell out of the wheel wells. I ran 32's on the SPB and because of the wheeling we did, I used a 3# sledge to essentially move the rear of the front wheel well back about 2" - 3". With the wheels you are using having the offset to move them out almost 1", you WILL get a lot of rubbing! Nothing a hammer or sawzall can't fix! :D

Glad I asked! Maybe I'll buy one and try it on to see what needs trimming. Has anyone fit a Bushwacker cut out style fender flare from another vehicle on their van?

Thanks for the info guys!

Another one of my better investments, thanks fer bringing it up :butthead:

The fronts will drive you up a wall. Because of the front edge of the front doors. Forget about it. Either fibreglass yourself a custom set or take the cowardly way out as I did and play with the backspacing so's to tuck 'em in as much as possible.

:muhaha: :muhaha:

I've taken brand new 4x4's off the lot and driven them straight into muddy fields. Trust me, I've done my part. The pics above prove that some types of activities are better left for those properly equipped. Like Deano.

PS: Those pics were taken running my 325/60's. My l'il 4.3 awd couldn't even spin a tire trying to get unstuck. It was.....humiliating 8-[
