4.3 Vortec conversion
4.3 Vortec conversion
I want to install a 4.3 Vortec engine onto my 5 speed transmission which has a 1 inch diameter and 14 spline input shaft. What fly wheel and clutch assembly can I use?

Re: 4.3 Vortec conversion
So I'm just guessing here but because this a van forum you have an Astro/Safari van. If that is so and you are putting in a 4.3, you must have a first gen four banger with a manual tranny? If I am correct, then I would tell you to go the junkyard route and get the drivetrain out of a 2WD five speed S-10 truck. Save the shifter off yours and swap it all out.
I'm making this suggestion because I have NO idea as to the spine counts/shaft lengths/throwout bearing lengths/bell housing bolt patterns you are going to need.
