Ok, did some more research, and I printed out the circuit descriptions and diagrams at work to share with you all. I wrote a simple diagram for the switch. There is one for 96-00 and one for 01-05.

Enjoy!

Custom Lift: 3" body spacers, torsion keys,
4" leaf spring relocation mounts (by ME),
added a leaf spring from a 94 S10 blazer.
All this gives me 5-6 inches of lift.

The PCM is mounted right beside the battery. Not sure which connector is C4 and yes it will work without a TCCM since your 98 doesn't have one.

Thanks. I was looking for a PCU all thru the manual to no avail, ECU on the other hand..... I should be able to wire it directly to the low range terminals on the tc selector switch. \:D/

This seems like a HUGE improvement, glad to have stumbled upon it.

Will do. I've got the NP 242C built and waiting in the shed (and pics in the computer). Just need the van to quit breaking so I have time to install!

Conector 4 is the BLACK one on the VCM according to the manual.

Here's the end view
