The issue with the indexed keys isn't the cv shaft angles, it is the extreme angles the steering components are at. If you could drop the idlers down an inch or two it would make a huge difference in how long they last. Otherwise they don't last very long at all. I had a new set completely worn out in 2 weeks! That was after a weekend of wheeling and yes they were greased! I never had more than the max crank either.

Well that changes things a lot.

I agree with you and I'm surprised Overland or somebody didn't come up with a solution. It should be fairly easy to drop the idler arms by using some kind of bracket, no? That and lengthening the drag link a bit.

Anyone have a set a lift keys they aren't using? I have some experimenting that I want to do.

I'd love to lend you mine, but unfortunately you're on the other side of the 49th parallel, and cast iron is expensive to ship.
