Get one from GM Goodwrench. Can't go wrong. Two year, 36k mile warranty AND they'll pay the labour to remove & replace under warranty as well.

Re: hate to come back on such a bad note
well petey if you offering to pay then sure. but i just need something
to get this poor van driving again...a used tranny fluid and a tranny line flush is already looking like too much...
and dean that was my next step.... i guess 4l60e's are rare around here...4 junkyards dont have one...i find it hard to believe

Re: hate to come back on such a bad note
it was actualy my axle that went....im shocked...but in gear with the ebrake on
the driveshaft spins. so what other vehicle can i pull the axle from for a direct bolt in
we have the 7.5 10 bolt rear end am i correct? what about the spring perch spacing?

Re: hate to come back on such a bad note
sounds like you chewed a pinion/ring up. with the axle you need an Astro or Safari van axle, they are unique. When it comes to the ratio, you can either try to find the same one or change ratios at this point. GU6 is 3.42, GU5 is 3.23, GU4 is 3.08, GT4 is 3.73 and GT5 is 4.11. Numerically higher is better for towing and acceleration and numerically lower is slightly better for highway MPG.
