drilling holes on hitch

Post by marco10 »

I was told that drilling holes on the hitch cross tube is not good. I was going to attach a trailer connector to the cross tube by drilling but a friend told me not to. Will 2 small holes really damage the hitch?

I wouldn't think 2 small holes would weaken it enough to be a concern. Now, if you were to weld on it, that could be a different story.

Maybe you can mount the connector to the bottom of the steel bumper.

I wouldn't attach to the hitch. I just don't need ANYTHING else to worry about when towing.

Zip ties?
