Thanks to all!!

Post by Detectorist »

I completed my move fom Largo, Florida to Raleigh, NC last Monday. Installed a transmission cooler as recommendd by the fine folks on this forum and then installed a 5000lb capacity Hidden Hitch brand hitch. Towed a uHaul 12' trailer. Loaded up about 600lbs of stuff in the van and 1500lbs of stuff in the trailer. Empty trailer was 1800lbs. Grand total cargo was about 3900lbs.

The Astro performed admirally. It sagged only about 3"-4" in the rear.

I kept precise gas records and the over 700 mile trip was 13.5 MPG with all that weight!!

Thanks to all!

I would love to move back to North Carolina, They have some of the best weather ( you actually get to see all four seasons!!) The winters aren't bad (unless you live in the mountains), Just enough to allow you to appreciate it, Summers aren't too bad, though it can get a little humid -- nothing worse than Florida though. But the Spring and Fall is great weather.

But my roots are here in Florida, as long as I have roots, I'll be here.... In hot, humid, rainy, Florida!
