Stovebolt i6 swap.

Post by 91ho »

Will a Chevy 4.2/4.8 i6 fit into astro if bolted to 700r4 and transmission stays in stock location? Or is too tall and too long? I know it does bolt in and I saw video of Tbi setup on 250 i6 on YouTube. Shouldnt be hard right?

Not sure why a i6 when the 4.3 is more powerful. But if that is your dead set heart on swap for you, then here are some links:

Just try to remember these vans are 4,000 lbs or more and do need the low 700R 1st and 2nd gear along with off idle torque to get them moving.

Hope this helps.
