Smacked a Lumina

Post by JTalley »

I'm back. I haven't been on the forum much because I moved three times in the past three months and things have been pretty hectic on my end.

Anyway, as the title suggests, I smacked a Chevy Lumina. Of course, the Lumina is fine. Not even a scratch. It was on a slope, though, and managed to miss the bumper. We hit just hard enough to crack the grill and bend in that panel below it. I'm fortunate enough that those are the only things damaged. Not even the fenders or radiator were touched, so after the new grille and panel, I'm set. Thing is, I can't find that panel anywhere online. What is it actually called?

I would try a auto wreckers. I am not sure what that part would be named. Try your local autoparts store they should have a book of body parts like fenders and such and they could have that listed.
1999 Safari Touring edition.
trailer tow pack with a 3:73 posi
Bucket bench seats, Rear heat, Rear Airconditioning.
teal green
300 000 kms
AirRide air bags in the rear to fix soft stock suspension.
Onboard aircompressor to make it all work nice.

i believe that panel is called the bumper filler. The last time I was in Oklahoma, there was a salvage yard south of Asher called Tri-County or something like that and they had several older Astros with good front ends. I stopped there looking for parts from my 87 Safari that I was driving at the time.

They are on 177 at 160th St
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!

The auto wreckers is your best bet. I seriously doubt you'll be able to find a new replacement for that in the aftermarket. Unless you can find someone selling and NOS piece, which will probably be expensive. I remember looking for body parts for my van and all I found was fenders and front doors in new parts. When I had my bodywork done the quarter panel they put on my van was a used piece.
