Cheap paint job

Post by markmitchinnh »

My wife bought a 1995 Cavalier with 79,000 miles on it, she paid 1600 bucks for it. Car is solid and only needed a muffler a tune up & a paint job. The car was pinkish purple and was peeling bad. SO I had her pick out a color from the rustoleum line of paints I mixed it with mineral spirits (thinner) and added a tiny amount of a chemical called Japanese dryer. I laid down 4 coats in one hot day. and the wife is happy Cost approximately $100.00

Nice!
No need for rocket science, keep it simple.... I actually used a roller to paint my GT last summer.
Looks better at 20 feet than 2 feet, But I'm of the frame of mind that: It aint the fashion, it's the function that matters.
For example, A lifted 2wd van with huge bogger tires on all 4 corners, doesnt seem very functional, but 'some people' find it quite 'fashionable'. ](*,)

Mark,
Does your 89 RS have a have a set of holes stamped thru the steering column bracket to hang a clutch pedal from?
All my pre 90 vans had the holes, but my 90 GT has no holes.

Looking fwd to the pix !!
