No input shaft sensor

Post by Safari gfx »

I am going to use a 2002 Express tune for the V8 Astro but the wiring diagrams show AT ISS sensor ,we don't have one ,can I put one on ,can it be deleted from pcm program. Does it get the signal from the teeth on fly wheel?

Interesting I can't find any where on the net that lists an ISS for the Express. It appears that everything I can find shows that they use the same sensors. Are you sure it's not called something else on the diagram you have or it was thoughtlessly omitted from the Astro's diagram. Check to see if the colors match the speed sensor in the tail shaft and at the same pins in the ECU. I bet they do. :)

I looked at the wiring diagrams for the express transmission, it appears that the iss sensor was for the 4l80e not the 4l60e. Justin at Black Bear Performance confirmed it. I have ordered the 411 PCM,now it is time to put the worms back into the can.I may need a bigger can.

Rock on, I'd love to do this but the tuning software is fairly expensive for the box and with my ambitions of boost I'd need to do extra work to it too.
