putting 20's on the van..need tire size advice

Post by justice »

I may be bartering for a set of nice 20's for my 2004 Cargo, but I will need tires. I would like something that is a similar diameter to my current 215/75-16 so that I don't see a big change on my speedometer. And I don't want to have to modify anything to prevent rubbing.

Any advice?
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!

20's are bling.
Bad idea. Save your money.
The reduce air volume makes harsh ride and limits cargo capabilty and make checking air pressure a critical safety factor.

Tires and wheels is pure profit for tire stores.
If you do jump into the 20 bling world make sure you save your original tires and wheels. In a while you will learn that OEM engineering was optimized for the oem wheel size.

I would look at a 245/40R20 tire. This keeps you right around the 27.7" diameter. You could also look at a 235/45R20 to give a little more sidewall and height. Make sure you post up pics for the naysayers! :muhaha: :supz:

well, the ones I might get are not too "blingy" at least I don't think so. The trick will be affording the new tires.

Yeah tires are very expensive! I am looking for a set of 275/65R18 in a load range C to E for my truck but at over $220 each it's hard to swallow when I have perfectly good stock tires on it!
