Safari/Blazer tccm connector question

Post by Captn. Crunch »

So I'm putting an np236 transfer case from a 99 Blazer into my 99 safari. I'm looking at the printouts for both of the plugs and I see this difference. Pin E9 on the safari reads:

Serial Data Signal Class B 10400 Baud Primary

Pin E9 from the Blazer reads:

Class 2 Serial Data Signal

They both seem to deal with pass lock security type concerns. What are the chances of plugging in and having it work. Possibly a re-learn?

Sure just plug it in! What could possibly go wrong? " honey-your vans on fire" comes to mind. Even worse than that " dear I need like $800.00 because I was stupid and cooked every computer component in the vehicle I drive to work every day oh and can you give me a ride to work for two weeks?"

So I have been assured that dispite the differences in nomenclature these are actually the same thing so I am moving forward.

Glad you were able to get it sorted out. Last night, after I uninstalled/installed the GM ESI software and got it working again, I looked at both '99 Blazer & Astro and shows Class 2 serial data for both. It does sound like your Blazer diagram was using the old nomenclature so I'm just catching up to what you already know!

Looking forward to a positive result with the t-case swap!

Thanks for taking the time to look into that for me. Im not against moving a pin or two around. Might have to do just that and turn my service awd light into four wheel engaged light. I wasnt going to arbitraraly take a chance on data circuits without some insight. Ya how cool would this be if it really is plug and PLAY! I will expound some info I learned about building an np236. You can't just swap parts into these things. The tolerances are pretty tight and when you Frankenstein one like I did you can end up outside of factory specs. I am dealing with a bit of power transfer to the front that's reminiscent of stuck clutch plates. I know that's not the issue so it's something I will need to adress.
I know a guy who's been tearing these cases apart and learning their secrets. He's hinted at being close to a ground breaking revelation so I'm biding my time and having been sworn to secrecy I can't devulge just what he's working on but it's cool.
