?'s about front differential removal

Post by SafariGuy »

I am going to R & R the front differential in my 93’ Safari AWD Van, and have a couple of questions about the process.
Once the half-shafts are unbolted from the axle flanges shouldn’t you be able to separate and move them out of the way?
Also, do you have to remove any steering linkage (tie rods) so the front mount on the differential will clear when lowering down?

The half shafts can be tied up out of the way as they do separate. There is no need to do anything with the steering. Just unbolt the diff from the mounts and rotate and drop. ihatemybike has a step-by-step procedure someplace on here.
