disc vs drum brake rear axles.
Hi There. Sounds like I will need to swap in a rear axle soon, so I will need to shop around.
I see that some of the newes astro's have rear disk brakes, and I think they might be nice to have.
I also noticed that these disc brake axles have a six bolt lug pattern.

So now I have questions:
What will I need to make the discs work in an old non abs van
Can I pull good 5 lug axles out from an older axle diff, and install them to the newer disk style diff to keep my astro 5 bolt pattern?
Anyone done similar swaps with some insight to share?
here is an s10 axle with disks, but again its the wrong 5 bolt pattern for an astro.

If you're a fabricator you could start with front discs / rotors from an AWD 5 stud Astro and build the caliper carriers. I have a Ford 9" rear from a Lincoln limo with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern and disc brakes here but I don't know if any of that stuff is bolt "onable".
