Broken HVAC Vacuum Line

Post by CaptSquid »

You know, the thin plastic one that snaps when you look cross-eyed at it? I can find one end, but not the end on the block. Is it on the driver's side and must I remove the doghouse to get to it? It's a SCORCHER here and I need wind in my face, not on the windshield.

I'm not 100% sure about yours, but on my van it's pretty far back there and I did remove the cover. I've never tried, but you might be able to reach from under the hood ... Image

Well, I got out and got under the hood and the doghouse today and replaced the errant vacuum line. WOW! It sure is refreshing to have air flowing from the vents to where I want it and not just on the windshield!

Just one MAJOR complaint -- I'd just LOVE to meet the lumphead(s) who owned this van before. It seems that if they removed two fasteners (screws or nuts), they would only replace one and pocket the other one.

Well, maybe two complaints. When I purchased the replacement A/C hose, instead of getting one that worked for both front and back, I only got the one that worked on just the front A/C. $191 for NOTHING!
