Any insight on Vacuum Vent Controls for Gen 1?

Post by redcloud »

The dash vents stopped working & are only blowing through the defrost & bottom. My van doesn't have rear heat - only rear a/c.

I have a canister on the driver side that appears to go all the way back to the rear a/c.

Then I have a black ball on the passenger side that appears to run up to the engine.

Does anybody have any clue exactly what I'm looking for on the Gen 1. It seems to be a bit different than the later models.

Thanks

Most likely it's a leaking vacuum hose, it's only a few $ to replace them all under the hood, one at a time. That is where I would start.

Finally able to dig in a little today. Almost all of these vacuums are behind the dash on this model. I found more diagrams here :

I would concentrate on the vacuum hoses under the hood first, as the ones behind the dash tend to be in good shape.
