And so does the van. Unfortunately, I keep my water and the van (the Stro, not the Safari) keeps losing it.
The water pump is failing and the intake manifold is also defective. Well, after adding water daily to keep the van from overheating, I decided to bite the bullet and get the problem resolved.
The stealership wanted $1500 to do the work. The mechanic I'm taking it to wants $1061. Guess which one I'm going to?
Ordinarily, I'd do the water pump myself, but, due to my infirmities and lack of tools and facilities, I have to allow my wallet to be raped. But, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

Unfortunately if you cannot do the work yourself you sometimes get stuck with the big billzinski....

I feel your pain. I was on vacation camping down on the Oregon coast 2 weeks ago and the van snapped the shaft in the power steering pump. So needless to say it was more than could be fixed in a campground in the dark so I ended up with a nice bill to end my holidays.

Well, $1069 later, my Stro no longer has a water retention problem. Unfortunately, I had to leave my power scooter as collateral until I can pay off the damages to my wallet. I'm now relegated to the Wally World scooters with a top speed of 0.025 mph instead of my "Maserati" scooter, with a top speed of 5.5 mph.
One pleasant after affect is that the AC now pumps out COLD!
