Can't hurt anything, Gary. Although, I use RTV and let it set up.

I am thinking just alittle bead and not enough to hold the housing away from the O ring. One thing good about replacing the thermostat is removing the housing bolts will give me a chance to clean the harness ground there.Might help with the weak spark issue I have been trying to resolve.

I went to replace the thermostat and found of course there is two bolts holding it on.One is a stud/bolt for a 1/4 20 nut for a CPI/ignition ground. The nut is trashed with rust without even touching it.Blew it off/sprayed it and I can see it won't come off without destroying. No room to heat it up in part because of the wires.Called the dealership and it has been discontinued. So what do you guys think I should do??.Drill the ground connector out for just a bolt the same size??.Remember the shop is in the middle of no where,so I have to go there with parts that I am very sure fit and will allow me to get it back together.

When you get those bolts out replace them with studs. Yes, just replace the ground eye with one that fits the stud. Easy fix.
