The two types that I know of are the" Thermostatically" controlled and the non thermo controlled. The clutch with the thermostat is the more expensive but is also the better of the two. It can be identified by the thermo spring on the front side. They are available in the after market.

Unless your cooling demands are going to be really high...check into an electric conversion. It's worth some ponies :D

thanks guys, i will be fitting a tranny cooler pretty soon, and prob a new A/C Condenser but nothing else that will demand more than standard cooling, if i switch to electric cooling, is gaining HP the only plus?....will it be better on mpg?.....will the 12v fan give same, more or less cooling(guess it depends on what i put in there!?!)....what websites woud you point me to??...
..I appreciate the knowledge!!

My only concern with electric is the availablity of parts should you have a problem while you are on the road. The horsepower issue is a mute point unless you are trying for every bit of performance. Rockauto.com is a pretty good starting point for parts. I've dealt with them and have excellent service.
