flushing cooling system

Post by sandpiper »

just wondering how you guys with high mileage 4.3 vortec avoided intake manifold coolant leaks. I see lots of you have cranked on lots of miles. Mine is a 1999 with 122,000 kms on it and Iam starting to get a little concerned, should I just do a gasket change before it goes into the oil and ruins my engine? thanks

IMO I wouldn't be worried.
I have a 93 ext that still has the original intake gaskets with 280 thou K
& it just started to weep a little bit.
Kidhauler (our local nutbar) has a 99 safari with over 250 thou K,No intake gasket leaks.
You should be OK for some time & allot more K's.
