what is this part called?

Post by violent b »

I believe I have a leak at this thing but I have no idea what it is called to replace it. hopefully you guys know and can help me out. It looks like some kind of vaccum piece but I'm not sure. The hoses come from the water pump to the heater core.

I took mine out compleately and put a slicer pipe in, the only thing it dose is shut the water off to the heater core when you turn the temp down. I havent noticed any diff in heating OR cooling myself.

I'm not sure what year those valves were added, but they weren't on my 89 or 88 Astros.

:-k That's strange,,my 89 had one but ditched it and installed a valve that I shut off in the summer.
