Radiator Fan Clutch choice

Post by Snowgeek »

Howdy folks.... while pulling my new travel trailer through the mountains this weekend I found out that my cooling fan clutch ain't doing its job. Well it will work if I pull over then start again but it won't turn on again till I pull over again. Had a few tense moments and she got a bit hotter than I would like but in the end I never hit RED thank goodness.

Ok so here is the question, Hayden Severe Duty Thermal Fan Clutch, AC Delco, 4 seasons or some other version.... any opinions out there?

Also While i am at it I am going to replace my AC compressor clutch that screams at me during hard accelerations has any one done this job?

Thanks,

Ryan

Ok so I ended up going with the AC Delco thermostaticly controlled fan clutch, Amazon had this for $95..... this is quite a bit more than a few other after market clutches but after reading a few reviews many of the others seemed to have mixed reviews.

 Good choice there! I'm planning on going ACDelco® this spring for a fan reclutch -- I had to replace a seized water pump recently, but my stock fan clutch is good for now and the typically mild Central Valley (CA, USA) winter is none too demanding on cooling systems.
