Gibson exhaust on V8 go/no go?

Post by Cobra »

so lately i've been thinking about my exhaust (hmmm that doesn't sound right...) anyways i intended to get the Gibson stainless steel cat-back and a Magnaflow direct fit cat (since my cat's heat shield rusted off and has a little rattle to it) do you thing the cat-back system would also work on a V8? I don't really wanna spend the money on it if i'm going to have to dispose of it later

If it's a full 3" I don't see why it wouldn't work. Most stock V8 and V10 trucks run 3" all the way.

The stock system on your 98 is 3" to the muffler then 2.5".
Current rides:
2013 Toyota Tundra DC 4x4
2008 Dodge Nitro 4x4
2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Special Edition

Mileage spreadsheet

Vans owned:
1986 Safari 2.5L 4 speed manual - scrapped
1995 Astro 2WD conversion 4.11 posi, shift kit, DHC rock rails - sold to Skippy
1998 Astro 4x4 D44, D60, NP231, full hydraulic system with 9k# Milemarker winch and snow plow - sold to Lockdoc
2003 Astro AWD all stock - traded for a 3/4 ton truck
2005 AWD, 4.10's - sold to skippy
