Stable Rides and Seats

Post by jteague22 »

I purchased a 2005 LS Ext. van last week and have put a couple hundred miles on it since. It has 72K miles. Body sway seems to be an issue. I will pull some light trailers occasionally and was thinking about the AirLift system to keep it level. I have ordered (due today) some pricey Gabriel Shocks that I will install this week. It does not have sway bars on either end, does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for a more stable ride, other than that the van is perfect. Kudo's to the previous owner for taking such good care. Thanks. Also, I would like to find some LT Seats for the front. Anyone have any leads for them? :usa:

Your van should definitely have a factory front swaybar.

There is a front one....tucked way up in there. For the rear, Hellwig is the way to go. I have put one on every Astro I have owned. Another way to help the ride is installing LT rated tires when the time comes.

I agree with these guys . replace the front sway bar ends , put a hellwig rear sway bar on , good shocks & tires & it'll be a completely different ride !!! oh yeah , don't forget to change the idler arms too . MOOG parts while expensive ..... will last alot longer than the cheaper ones .
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.
