New fuel pump.... ACDelco #MU1380 or #MU1774 ?

Post by Snowgeek »

Ok this has been tossed out there so many times with no real answer so here it goes. 2004 Astro AWD LT

After plugging my vin number into ACdelco's parts site I get 2 results with no explanation

MU1774 = Except Robust fuel sys sender (K53)
and
MU1380 = Robust fuel sys sender (K53)

I do not have RPO code K35 so it seams logical to go with MU1774 but they seem to say both fit. Is there a reason to spend the extra money on the other? Will it fit or will wires need to be spliced? And the ever great question has anyone figured out past simple speculation what the difference between these two are?

Thanks,

Ryan

No, it doesn't matter and there is also the OE Delphi FG0288 option if you want to save $ which is what I used on my van.

They all come with a new splice connector.

Mine's a '98 and I got an MU1782 thru Amazon ($165). Be sure to check the travel on the sending float arm. Mine wouldn't drop under it's own weight. I had to gently release some of the tension on the sender contacts to get it to work.

Thanks guys MU1774 ordered on amazon for $185.

Not looking forward to the job ahead, especially siphoning 15 gallons of gas.
