The difference in V8 traction from weight transfer between the Shorties and the Stretch body is dramatic too but it probably isn't as clear with those meats on the back. :yawinkle:

Stan-with a four link and instant centers, you can negate the over hang of the extended van's and really use it to your benefit like ballast.

I hadn't checked in on this thread in awhile... WOW! I'm impressed! Really nice.

But I'm thinking more like an 1" down in the front and an 1" up in the rear.... :muhaha:

I'd leave it just as it sits. It looks great. Nice job. :supz:

Thank you Smilesafari
Thank you mdmead. Would look good another inch down, but its lower than it looks. I have to be careful with stuff hanging down, oil pan, deep extra capacity tranny pan, 3 inch exhaust and some of the rear framework.
1Gary: It has a 9 inch Ford with 4.10, pretty close to stock rear with 3.73. The rear has Detroit Locker, Richmond gears and Moser axles.

I bought the Astro from hpbystan, with the LS1 already swapped in. Stan gets the credit for doing the swap. For the price of buying it already done, saved me alot of money, hassle and time. I am so happy I bought it and decided to transfer all usable parts from other to this Astro. In the long run, the decision will save me a lot of money.

It still has the stock manifolds and cats. Not sure on headers, would be nice, but not needed.
At the moment, drawing a blank on the pan, will get back to ya.

Here are the pictures of the swap:

Cleaned it up and took better pictures
