WOW I'm not liking that one why shave the back-end and leave the hinges? And me personally never liked the chop top look on these.

Another eBay attempt for that thing. That's one of two vans that were hopped up for Discovery Channel's show Ultimate Car Build Off. The other was scrapped.

I'm sorry, but there aren't many things uglier than a chopped Astro/Safari. Just plain UGLY!! Send that thing to the crusher! (Pull the parts first of course!)

I agree with you guys about the looks and certainly that turboed 4.3 will not last but that thing is full of other parts. I'm told it's still available. Maybe the'll part it out.

that thing looks bargin basement. who the hell chops a hole in the floor to run a turbo??? and then the big ugly tube running back up through the fire wall. A 5 year old would do a better job than that.

I would like the performance brakes off it tho. I wonder where they found them, actually both teams used the same brakes.

The brakes came from Summit Racing and are for a S-10 on modified spindles. Talked with Troy Ladd about it on Facebook. I didn't get what they did to the spindles. Remember those were done in 4 days.

I disagree Gary. It says "kewl" because of the blower sticking out of the hood! The van itself is butt-ugly in my book. :muhaha:

nah actually they didn't put any time into it at all. According to the show, they had one week to produce it. It only needed to run long enough to shoot the final competition for the episode. I'd be willing to bet it's an abject P.O.S.
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

I can't remember all I've forgotten about that....
