New guy with old Astro

Post by thumb »

Hello All!

I bought my Astro van new back in 1989 and it has been serving me well since only with a few minor problems. Last time I looked I had 356K miles on it and hope to get just as many more for one main reason, I don't think I could afford a new van now especially since I'm retired.

One owner - 356,000 miles! You sir are my hero! Welcome to the site. I don't know how much you can learn here for the simple fact that you must have seen it all by now. Wow!

Actually I have not seen much at all other than after about the first year I had it I had to replace the idler arms that had already worn out after 43K miles but I replaced them with so-called never wear out ones and so far they have not.

Just recently my windshield washer pump quit pumping and so far I have not found out the reason even after replacing everything I know of. Anyway, I have a thread pertaining to that.

I must say this van has served me well. :prayer:
