Agree on the 4 wheel discs, difference of day and night from the older 'Stros.
I finally got the 16 gauge inner bed sides from the sheet metal shop today. His supplier kept sending the wrong stuff. I had them bend the top and cut out the wheel wells and fuel filler area as well to my patterns. Tomorrow I will try to final fit them to the y2k Astro / El Camino.

Finally hooked up the 120 watt solar panel, hardwired the ARB fridge, and added some ghetto Ikea LED lights. Now I need to make some screens, hook up the fan, and fix the vaccum problem though I think they gave me the wrong part.

Looks like my safaris going to be a work truck for a while...dads 99 E350SD with the 7.3TD died. Mechanic thinks it either spun a bearing or hydrolocked, but either way its toast...so time for a new van. :(

Deleted my F#@king oil cooler manifold! After several failed attempts to stop the leaking from it (Chevy dealer was loving it), I removed it. Was coming home Sunday and smelled oil burning. When I got home (was almost there), I saw smoke billowing from underneath. As I looked under van ( I really didn't need to) I saw a good sized oil leak. I threw my drain pan under it and went inside. When I got home from work Monday, I went to start it and it acted like the battery was dead, turned over hard! It did that the first three times I started it. The forth time it started normally. I really hope I didn't cook the motor. Took it for a short spin and it drove fine, no leaks yet either! Guess we'll see! The pics I took of the underside didn't come out that well but I think most have seen an oil-covered astro underside. I only wish it were closer to winter to protect it some! Kelly

Took the rear driveshaft to Fleetpride for new u-joints and a balancing. Going to install it today. Was getting a vibration at around 50 mph or so and it would clunk going in reverse and drive sometimes.

Went to the junkyard to hopefuly score some engine parts (distributor, carb, and vacuum controlled cruise) for the 350 in my cadillac. All thats left is the carb, distributor, driveshaft, and exhaust and it will be road ready.
I struck out on those parts, but finally found some new window ledges for the back of my van. They're from a 91 tiara shorty safari. they cost me a whopping $15. :) I will cut them to length (the ledge for the left side windows is 1 piece and too short for my van so I will make 2 ledges out of it), cut holes for the appropriate panels (headphone jacks, etc) and restain them (the finish is completely faded off, but the wood was still in excellent shape, with no stains, gouges, etc.)
I also scored 2 rear fillers for my cadillac.

Also, the high speed relay for my front AC went out, which sucks since its been 100+ for the past week or 2.
