Service Engine Still on,a after Oxo Bank One Replaced

Plugged in the OBD, did as it suggested, replaced the Oxo Sensor on Bank One, and cleared light. A day later, it comes back on and states the very same problem. Ideas?

Hi,

O2 sensors used to have just 1 wire for the signal from the sensor. The metal threaded connector supplied the Ground or Return side to complete the circuit. These O2 sensor were daily inexpensive.

Then the nasty regulators forced the heated sensor to be used. The idea was it would give r=the sensor faster warm up time so the first minute or so after engine cold start would be controlled more accurately for the air/fuel mixture control, stochiametric ratio 14:1 air/fuel. This added 2 more wires to connect the resistive heating element in the sensor to a source of current from the vehicles.

These O2 sensors cost more of course. And the resistor would often fail throwing a code even if the actual sensor was still ok.

Did instructions say to use anti seize on threads?
Is your OEM harness connector in good shape?


Is yours 1 wire or 3 wire.

The replaced sensor was a Bosch, $75. It did have antilock on the threads. Upon exchanging, I noticed where the wire touched the exhaust, possibly shorting it.
The light is off again and we'll monitor it as we collect miles. Although it was very minor, hopefully it was just the exhaust grounding it.

I never had any luck with Bosch on my previous van so I stick with OEM Delco or Denso.
