parts sourcing on line

Post by rpjn59 »

Hey, has anyone used these guys below?

https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com/

I was a little confused when viewing their site, I was assuming they sold all OEM parts, but when I looked in to a power steering pump, they indicated a core charge. WT..., I wouldn't think that an OEM dealer would be asking for cores??? Also, being that there would be shipping involved?

Any opinions and/or expertise?

Hi,

Last month I purchased a new AC Delco power steering pump for my 2003 AWD Astro.
It came from NAPA warehouse. You can tell the difference from new pump and rebuilt. The new pump is shiny metal on the housing instead of painted as is done on the rebuilt ones.

I too was charged a core fee.

The parts store thinks that PS pump cores for older GM vehicles must be in demand.

I also changed the hydro boost brake booster which is powered by hydraulic pressure from the ps pump.

The new pump works great.

I did flush of fluid and vacuum bleed of ps steering system.

Is that why the brake assist is bolted to the front of the steering gear?

Correction, so the ps pump is what pressurizes the hydro boost, and hydro boost is for the brake system only?
