That could be awesome to put Astro Safari van body on Truck chassis.

I have sometimes considered getting a used Chevy Avalanche 4x4 with its fold down midgare .
Then putting a nice color matched high roof fiberglass camper shell on the back to make it into a pseudo van where i could get to back of vehicle from inside.

I have been lurking here, and well, I finally did it.. I have had van obsession since the 70s and now I love Astro awd ... I had an Astro passenger van but it didn't satisfy my “Vannin” longings.. plus its awd was always broken. so I found a solid 1997 cargo (for the non electric awd) and just had a friend put on a lift from Journey's offroad. My mechanic said it was the nicest kit hes used for something like this. I have rebuilt difs with 3.73 gears (stock were 3.42) and I got super swamper Trxus tires on there.. black rock viper wheels.. all worked out perfectly! (the tires suck though.. they are NOT round , I should have listened to the nay sayers, but I wanted the extra width and aggressive look.. as they are 1.5 inches wider than the BFG’s I would have bought… they look great though. I want to say thank you to all you guys for sharing your knowledge here!

Shame about those tires Dreamer. They look great! I too was considering those same tires, but got talked out of them for the reason you stated.
