Turn signals shorting out when in reverse

Post by crushrus »

Super weird problem.... 2003 Astro.... as the title suggests, turn signals work fine (although they don't auto off after you turn) but as soon as you put the van in reverse, the fuse blows. Super strange.
The rear light sockets are pretty jacked up. They're black and slightly melted, although they all work. Van is new to me so no clue what happened to them. Tried to look online for a replacement wiring harness, but can't seem to find one. Anyone know if a chevy express harness work? Anyone have advice on this weird ass issue?

Thanks.

Ya that don't look good. Before I redid a wiring harness I would go to the junk yard and snip off all those bulb sockets from a doner van. Swap them out for yours and see if you still have a problem. Grab the doner vans signal stalk while your at it.
