subframe bushing replacement question

my 97 awd is clunking when starting or stopping... turns out it's the rear most subframe bushings that are shot

dorman makes them for around $20 each (in Canada)

hard job to change them? should i do it myself or have a shop do them?

how long of a job is it?

thanks

best way to install a starter kill switch?

wondering if anyone has installed a kill switch?

if so .. where? and what wire did you tap into ?

I want to install one on my 97 .. just a simple on/off type switch, hidden somewhere.

Re: no high speed on blower

thanks Jim.. actually, knew all that one.. that's if the high only is working and none of the others.

mine is the opposite, like the first post.

I think you might be confusing the blower motor resistor with the high speed relay

Re: the official help Rob find another Astro thread

well, the search is over. yeah, i know.. that was fast. i guess it's all in the timing. picked up a 1997 AWD with 193,000kms on it. very clean except for a rusty drivers side rocker and two small spots on the front fenders. the cosmetics of the van need some TLC and fine tuning.. but overall it's so...

Re: the official help Rob find another Astro thread

thanks .. wow .. quite the list. i'm not looking for a cargo .. but .. oddly, I went and looked at a 2002 cargo today .. took it for a drive. seller wouldn't budge on his price and was in no rush to sell. it was super clean, rust free, had more miles than i like and felt it in the drive train. motor...

free or very inexpensive is awesome. i get so much more satisfaction in getting something that way.. and if it works as it should, more enjoyment using it when i know what i got it for.

Re: new wheels

I put the new wheels/tires on the van today. I had to do a bunch more trimming as the new tires rubbed pretty bad, but all is clear now. Here are the glamour shots, Decals still gotta go! I really like that look, almost like the van should have come that way from the factory. I agree with the decal...
