Re: Oxygen Sensors

Did some research and found out that there are FOUR O2 sensors on the beast. The stealership wants $299 PER UNIT installed. I can get Bosch units at Autozone or O'Reilly's for $62.99 each. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/jobDiagram.jsp?engineCyl=6&ymmeId=1998/59/109/819&catego...

Oxygen Sensors

After the stealership did a thorough diagnostic and repaired the bad chassis ground, he told me that I needed new O2 sensors.

Questions are:

1. How many?
2. Where?

TIA.

Re: Please help me slay this electrical gremlin!

Check the main battery ground as well. I just found out yesterday that that particular item was at fault for 99% of my electrical woes.

NO MORE GREMLINS

Turns out that the gremlin was a bad chassis ground. The stealership (through intervention from Chevrolet corporate) did a thorough evaluation and found that the chassis ground was intermittent, but to the point of abject failure. The wrench did a marvelous job of fixing the ground and no more greml...

Re: Astro's Big Brother

CarFax reports this as a 2-owner vehicle. Fleet for first owner, lease for second owner. The stealership has dropped $1k off the price. I heard it run, but haven't taken it out on the road yet. I'm going to see what the bank will do as this isn't a "We tote the note" lot. Yeah, I know -- I...

Driver Window

With the advent of higher daylight temps (and the wonky ignition switch), the driver's window goes down nicely, but takes 10 - 15 minutes to shut. The Thermal Cutout keeps cutting out. HELP!

Re: Mirror Upgrade

Herbie, the same thing happened to me with my 92 Safari. I got a replacement glass at Manny, Moe, & Jack's for just $11.00 (of course, that was a century ago). Much cheaper than the stealership's $54 price tag. But what really helped (and continues to help) is the LaneChanger II mirror for the i...
