Re: EBC Brake kits
FWIW, on my '04 I've had great results with OE quality rotors and Hawk LTS pads front and rear. Excellent stopping power (loaded, towing, whatever), no fade and really kind to the rotors, fare amount of dust but I can live with that. EBC makes nice stuff but I'm just not a fan of cross-drilled or ev...

Re: 235/85/R16
Do you mean H3 wheels? If so, they are probably 38mm offset and '03-'05 six lug Astro wheel offset is 31mm so the Hummer wheels are 7mm closer inboard. On stock 16x7 wheels with 245/75-16, I get a just a touch of rub at full lock but not enough to really be concerned with. Obviously, you're looking ...

Re: A different way to lift our vans??
They are the same 6-bolt lug pattern but knuckles (and hub bearing assemblies) are still Astro specific with different spacing/location for ball joints and tie-rods. I'd still like to see a comparison with 1500 knuckles to see just how different (or similar) they are.

Re: A different way to lift our vans??
Upper control arms are the same, steering knuckles are Astro specific with '03-'05 being different than earlier years if that helps.

Re: GTRV no longer doing Astros/Safaris...
Not trying to pour more (or any) fuel on the fire... It sounds like the owner/operator, Derek was/is overloaded and maybe not the best communicator customer service wise to start with and so now has Stephen to help with all the phone/email inquiries. I'm in no hurry for a poptop so able to give it s...

Re: GTRV no longer doing Astros/Safaris...
This was just posted on ExPo today from CCV... Hey All, Stephen here with Colorado Camper Van. We have been watching this thread and its always difficult to know when to chime in. I figured I would post something to let everyone here know that we see your comments/responses and we are working hard t...

Re: Anyone selling bumpers now?
Das Mule uses an ARB from FJ Cruiser, 97CargoCrawler used ARB 3462040 for Chevy/GMC 1500HD-2500HD-3500 2003-07 if that helps.

Re: GTRV no longer doing Astros/Safaris...
I agree, that is a bit of a ridiculous response. There was another guy from GTRV was on here a while back... ...just looked it up, username "Mathil" or Bryan, maybe contact him instead. People have trouble getting a response from CCV (Colorado Camper Vans) lately and it looks like their we...

Re: Anyone selling bumpers now?
If you want to spend the money and add the weight, a couple of ARB bumpers will fit with fabbing your own mounting brackets. Das Mule did one for SilverBullet1997 and 97cargocrawler did his own.

Try driving in figure 8's and changing Auto Trak II fluid again, could be sticking clutch plates.

Re: Awd problems
Encoder motor on transfer case sounds like it is stuck which is pretty common. If replacing encoder motor, use one with the needle bearing and not bushing insert on the drive socket. Dorman 600-906 uses the bushing style: http://www.dormanproducts.com/images/Product/medium/600-906-003.JPG Looks like...

Racerx7, if it helps I can copy the wiring diagram images from the GM eSI manual on my computer and send them to you since I'm probably going to go the same route here soon. Might save some time, or not. Hey Strover. Sure, send me what you got and I'll see what I can do with it :drinkers: ...
