the last two times any of my vans had unknown clanking sounds, it was worn out rear shocks.
the sound originally sounded like it was coming from the slider door, like it was not completely shut.

you would need to strip the reamining clear coat, polish the rims, and then re-clear.

wow, did it shear any of the studs? or did all of the lug nuts come loose at the same time?
