Re: my 1993 Astro restoration
Welcome back! Stay away from Photobucket! (Unless you want to spend $399 a year for remote hosting. New rules/pricing now in effect.) I opened an account with Imgur; they still have free hosting. I'm thinking it might be better to use Facebook if you have an account. (Imgur may follow suit with Phot...

Re: Truck topper for DIY high top?
I don't think building one... even one that looks reasonably good... would be too difficult. That being said, I've got to think a person could find a clapped out hi-top Astro or Safari for pretty cheap and just take the top off of it. (Who knows, maybe the rest of the van could be parted as well to ...

Re: change engine
A diesel conversion would be cool from the engineering and 'dare to be different' point of view, but I agree it is far from cost effective. I'd have to side with AstroWill on this one. I'd guess for $1,000, you could have a custom tank fabricated that would improve your range to exceed that of a die...

Yes, but not until my van is back on the road. (And some would say that means no...)
But if you come through the Yakima area, let me know. I'll make some time to say "hi!"

Re: Hello from Mount Vernon, WA
Yes, I am actually in Western State mental hospital suffering from delusions of building an expedition van. I faked taking my medication for about a week now, and managed to bribe one of the nurses to let me get on the computer so I could post this subject. It turns out that this is good therapy fo...

Re: Matt's New Toy!
Just read this on Overland Expedition: "If your using Chrome it takes about two minutes to add a plug-in called "Fix Embedded Photobucket Images" and all the dead links across all the different forums you frequent will magically reappear!" I searched it and downloaded it and it w...

Re: Matt's New Toy!
Yes. photobucket has ruined many forums with their buy or else demands, hope those fires keep there distance from ya No way would I pay Photobucket their $400 ransom. Shitty thing for them to do. (I understand the business side, but I've got to believe their way of 'solving' it will end them.) Deal...

Re: Matt's New Toy!
Phuck Photobucket! Bastards. Anyway, the KLR hasn't been getting the love it deserves the last couple of summers. A few weeks back I took it with me when I went to our cabin and did a great 100+ mile ride. It was probably 65% dirt/gravel and 35% pavement. I much prefer the dirt/gravel! Right off the...

Re: ExpeditionPortal members-Can someone reach out to Admin
I can give it a try. Feel free to PM your e-mail to me. Did you try contacting someone using the 'Contact Us' button at the bottom right of the Expedition Portal main page? If not, might be worth a shot. Thanks, I did try that but no luck, and it is impossible to keep track of threads without loggi...
