Re: Just got off the phone with Chops (Dennis)
I spoke to him this past Saturday, we had a Wonderful conversation about NECO when we all met, and about all the pictures that we all took. He was in very High spirits, just like the same Dennis that met years ago, and we had a Great time on the phone, just like sitting around the camp fire again......

Re: project ratstro
Danny's van is currently in the paint shop. Let me just say that body work is the most time and money consuming part of any build. -Vance Believe me I know how that goes, I have been working by myself on her bodywork to flat it down and prep for filler primer for months now. I can`t afford bodyshop...

Re: Shaved Dutch Door Hinges
My Gurls rear end and body is all prepped and waiting for a coat of filler primer, this week I have been working on smoothing out her front end after fitting her hood gas struts. I finally got my fiberglass smooth wiper cowl to fit perfect, by making it sit at the proper height and all the gaps even...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
I smoothed out my firewall panel today, getting rid of some ugly holes, to make it more pleasing to the eye when I open the hood. I am gonna remount my MSD box to a more air cooled location. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/DNC/Firewall.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/DNC/Firewall1....

Re: Sun/moon roofs
This is from a late model Nissan Maxima. The idea of a long single perspex roof could be incorporated between the Astro`s "roof ribs" but it`s gonna take some metal fabrication to get it to seal from the elements.

Re: Sudden tranny power loss with engine rev up
When you fit another tranny, install the largest axillary trans cooler that you can find and a temperature gauge, because our trannies hate heat.

I`m looking forward to seeing your mini-paint booth Sanja, I gotta convert my whole carport into a spray booth, with lighting, and a fan sucking out fumes, a no dust environment. Got any links to info on the www?

Re: The Lt's front brake conversion
I am 2wd, and my brake pad upgrade was from stock size Astro (riveted pads) to the 3/4 ton pick-up pads (non-riveted pads) you can certainly see the 20% size increase. Never use these CHEAP riveted pads on your van, because when they get low the lining brakes off in chunks between the rivets, and th...
