Re: flight school

http://articles.latimes.com/1994-06-11/local/me-2974_1_clip-wings They conveniently neglected to tell me about the accident until I had been working there for a few months. I loved the job. I was very young, got to fly everyday and was logging hours behind the controls with the 80 year old flight i...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

I feel like I jacked this thread. Isn't anyone else working on their van? Today was Mutha F'n HOT! I had to ghetto retrofit my garage for A/C just to survive: http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii145/jackbinthebox/2013%20VAN%20MODS/Bumper%20and%20Tire%20Carrier/IMG_1822.jpg It was in the mid 90's ou...

Re: flight school

Oh I had a headset, but with a giant hole in the bottom of the plane it didn't help all that much. I bailed on that job after I found out I was a replacement member for a crew who died in a mid-air collision.

Re: flight school

Pretty cool. A plane like that costs about as much as a small house here. I used to do aerial photography from a Cessna...my hearing will never be quite the same. What? Speak up!

Cool! A cargo van that's not white! I can give you some pointers on shoring up the rear of the van for a heavy duty bumper when the time comes.

Re: Hi from MI

Looks good! Nice sticker on the side there! Did the lady put that on?

Too bad you had to trim the rear fender, that's gonna look funny laters on when you rework the rear end suspension. Maybe paint the lower rockers black so it's less noticeable.

Looking forward to seeing how this develops!

Re: 2004 Astro AWD Build: Colorado Camper Van Pop Top

I dunno squat about pop-ups. Where's the second floor? It is like wood slats you roll out or...? Got a pic with the floor in place? I'm curious how you get up in there, etc.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Hmmm.....maybe like 7-8 inches. I haven't really measured it. The ladder is 12" wide. I didn't want to post this pic because the top step looks retarded. I'm going to be cutting two small triangles into the back of the tubes and bend the step to match the angle of the doors then weld it up. Jus...

Baby steps...but I still can't climb on it yet. Gotta install a latch and put some more bolts in the bumper first.

I did the rough cuts for the rest of my tire carrier/platform/ladder. Now I'm gonna go weld it all together.

Dude, that's a beautiful spot to get stuck. I think I'd slap some adobe on the sides of the van and live there a while.

Re: Need urgent help no brakes stuck on top of giant hill

Looks upside down to me. Also, if your master cylinder has a blown seal, there is definitely no ghetto repair. If you remove the master cylinder you will have more air in your system than you could possibly bleed by yourself, so be very careful. Still stuck on top of the hill? Got any pix of the roa...

Re: Need urgent help no brakes stuck on top of giant hill

The nipples should be up. Think about it....air in brake fluid wants to travel upward where there's less fluid pressure...like bubbles in water. Calipers can be installed upside down and still work, but there could always be some bubbles in there after bleeding. Only bleed from the nipples, NOT the ...
