It was quite the opposite, every time I lent it to my mom It came back with a new ding or a scrape down the skirt on the side. I never wrecked either of my parents cars... but...

Re: axle swap questions

you can get a set of spacers/bolt pattern converters for the rear. They are machined aluminum and come in all different widths... I Run 1 1/2" spacers on the front of my toyota and have had no problems whatsoever, you should be able to get them to convert to 8 bolt. 1/2 ton axles will only be 5...

you could get a truck shop to fab you a piece of exhaust tubing to run off of the throttle body to a filter low off to the side. just needs a little measuring

Re: Ring and Pinion Specs

You do not need to replace the bearings, but a thorough inspection is definatly reccomended, In my opinion it is worth spending the $200 on the bearings to ensure you are not going to have a problem 6 months down the line. I have made a few purchases from Ron's Machining service threw E-bay for Toyo...

What Country do you call home

Just interested to see what the breakdown is... I find most forums are either very American or very Canadian... or so on.

This site seems to have alot more diversity? so what is the breakdown?

Re: AWD Front Differentials

Just make sure you take everything that you think you could need, plus everything that is attatched to that... or you could wait a couple weeks and find a 97 being parted... I see these vans being parted or sold for next to nothing all the time. also you may want to be a little skeptical of the cond...

Re: what year did the stro...

the dash swap is rumored to be next to impossible... way to much involved to be worth while, a couple people tried it back in the AS days. I believe the concensus was it would be less work to build one from scratch,

In no way am I telling you not to try it though :poke:

Re: AWD Front Differentials

If you are swapping in the complete unit I can not see you running into to many problems. check the part #s on the axle shafts, if they are the same it should be pretty straight forward. nothing changed internally in it ever and it only came with one set of gears.(according to http://www.precisionge...
