Re: Is there anyone who would be interested in taking over A

Thanks Cap'n. Can you please clarify. You'll throw some money or you will make sure there's all the money every year?

Re: Is there anyone who would be interested in taking over A

There's a lot of useful info on this site and good people, and there are still thousands of Astrofaris out there and owners looking for help. It think it's worthwhile to keep the site going a bit longer. I have the know-how to keep it going, and I'm willing to put some time in, if another courageous...

Re: Recommendations for 2-3" Lift? - 92 Astro AWD EXT

I guess I will be holding off on the lift though since my shocks are relatively new. No sense in tossing them in the trash right now. I was in the exact same situation when I put in my lift. I managed to fetch a good price for the original shocks on Craigslist. Mind you, having the front axle out d...

Yes longer shocks are required, unless you move the mounts.

There are plenty of threads on lifting in the forum. Have a look around and let us know if you still have any questions.

Re: Rear shock re mount

OK. Is that such a good idea? I think part of the reason for their location is to prevent axle wrap.

Re: Rear shock re mount

You either buy longer shocks, or you weld new mounts on top of the axle.

Re: Looking for a new van.

Thank you. :) Looking for a forum. Any thoughts? For the Express/Savana era of GM Vans, Chevrolet Forum is pretty much the only active place. That's where I go. https://chevroletforum.com/forum/express-g-series-vans-30/ For the G-van era (60's-90's), Vanning.com is better. Lots of old-timers there. ...

Re: Looking for a new van.

Next I plan to install some e-track down the sides of the interior, using the ribbing, for mounting points/modular structures. I'm still working on welding up a dual golf-cart battery rack which will bolt to the frame. P8180034.jpg P8180038.jpg IMG_20190105_191544620.jpg That will become an auxiliar...

Re: Looking for a new van.

Of course I'm converting it, like I did my Astro. Working my way from the bottom up. Before: P2250013.jpg I sold the seats, and ripped out the tracks. Then I removed all of the interior finish trim down to bare metal (except headliner and dashboard), and cleaned things up. Sealed up some holes and t...

Re: Looking for a new van.

It's just your average white van, but alright. Here are the dealer's photos from when I bought it with 55,000km Again, it's a 1500 Passenger AWD with sliding door. It took a long time to find a van with this configuration that was in good condition with low mileage. Trim level is similar to LS I thi...

Re: oil cooler manifold and line removal

For the record, I took the lines (which were in good condition) out of the van and cleaned them up, cut the crimps off, and replaced them with hose clamps (doubled up) and put them back in. I never had a problem again.

Re: Looking for a new van.

I am now driving a 2013 GMC Savana AWD passenger van with slider door. It's no Astro, but it's the next best thing. :) I can say there's a noticeable drop in build quality. The AWD works better though. I don't like dual doors, but GM did make some Express/Savana contractor models with both. (the fue...
