Hood Won't Open

So the Safari has been sitting for a while, and the battery has run down. I need to get the hood open, but I pull the release in the cab and the hood latch is not letting go, or if it is, the hood is not popping up enough to get out of it. I think the cable is still attached as I hear it. How can I ...

Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

I got part of the interior trim off so I can get my hand and a light in there. It looks like the whole mechanism is hooked up, but the bottom part that latches on will not move. I sprayed it as well as I could with some lubricant, but still no luck. Is there any way to pry the latch part loose so I ...

Re: Drivers Side Dutch Door

It's a pretty simple mechanism of a handle/rod/cam-latch. There's no lock that I'm aware of, so it may be that something needs lube or is similarly stuck. Is it "hard to open" or it won't open at all? If the latter, you may have to try to remove the trim panels on the door to get at the mechanism. ...

Drivers Side Dutch Door

The drivers side dutch door won't open on my van. I open the hatch, the passenger side door, but while there is a sound like the mechanism is moving inside the door, the door won't unlatch. So any idea what's up?

Re: No brakes or powersteering

I had the exact same problem on my '97. Replaced the pump and all was well. I wouldn't want to do it in the winter though. It was hard enough in the warm weather of the summer.

Re: Come on Summer,,

Nice vehicle, and I can understand why you want summer here to drive it, but I am not ready for winter to be over. I am enjoying the snow too much.

Re: Wipers not working

That is what I thought. However, I moved the van the other day, a couple of days after we had an ice storm, and while the ice melted, there was a big freeze following that melting and a bunch of snow. When I moved the van after brushing it off and freeing the wipers, I wanted to run them over the wi...

Re: Wipers not working

I'm pretty much done now. Picked up a bolt from the wrecker to replace the one I lost. Got the motor attached to the linkage after using the heat gun to melt snow and ice covering all those screws holding the grill under the wiper arms and getting them out I could get just enough space to squeeze th...

Re: Wipers not working

Picked up a motor at the wreckers on Tuesday and just put it in today. It works! However, I lost one of the bolts (dropped it because of cold hand and it has disappeared), and due to the cold and snow I can't get the motor reconnected to the linkage since I need to get the wiper arms and grill off a...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Put a new wiper motor in. However, due to the snow and cold I can't get it reconnected to the wiper linkage since I can't find all the screws holding down the grill. I tried for a while with only one half off, but still can't get something big enough to squeeze them back together. I also lost on of ...

Re: Wipers not working

Yup, I guess so, although I have another motor in which the screws for the cover for the board broke off which also does not work with the new board. I was sure that motor was working, just the board being the issue, but with breaking off the screws for the cover I needed to replace it since I am re...

Re: Wipers not working

I am very frustrated at the moment. I got a new control board, put it in, and still have not got functioning wipers. At this point I have no idea what to do. I have power on the hot line. I have continuity from the switch. I have a new board. I have no functioning wipers. I don't know what to check.

Re: Wipers not working

I have a ground on the plug. Basically at this point it seems, if I did everything right with the multimeter, that the problem is likely the board. I ordered one from Rockauto.
