Re: After several different 4X4 vans, trying a 98 Astro now
Wow I thought I loved vans. I had a 87 toyota 4x van years back when I lived in the sierra's. It was cool my main problem with it was how the windows didn't go down all the way leaving no room for my arm to rest comfortably. Order 2x3 body blocks, and a procomp 2.5 inch add a leafs from summit. get y...

Re: Howling noise at hwy speed with 2 inch lift
My 99 does the same thing on the highway with cross winds. It sounds like it comes from under the van. maybe the void created by the lift blocks between the body and frame is the cause. my arb awning also has it's own noise at highway speed so it get's a bit loud at 75 .

Re: brush guard, push bar, bull bar.
thanks AP. Weight is a issue for torsion bars. that's why I didn't fab up a beefier bumper from scratch. my bumper and brush guard weighs around 70-75 lbs that's way less then a plate steel warn style bumper. in my opinion that's about all the weight these van's should handle on a daily bases. Add a...

I got my brush guard at the swap meet for $60 it's off a 93 suburban it's called the rancher and is made by Go industries here in the U.S.A. It came with the o.g mounting hardware which I adapted to fit my custom bumper. First I'll explain the custom bumper. I used my original bumper and another one...

Re: a month in the Mojave
yes 1289. Sweet looked familiar. I go out rock hunting from time to time out in the turtles. I've been collecting Opalite and different types of agate out there since I was a kid. Every thing from Amboy east is amazing if you take the time to explore it. Thanks for the extra photo of the Turtles.

Thanks. I live in granite dells 6 miles north of Prescott about 65 road mile sw of Flag. Cooper discoverer's. They are alright for cheap tires. The van needed tires when I bought it, and a trans. I knew I was going to lift it but wasn't sure how much. I did the body lift and add a leafs, and got the...
