Re: S-10 spring install question..overload leaf or no?

The shorty's look awesome either lifted or lowered. I am looking for more room inside for travel/sleeping, so the longer van is the best for me. The web site for SD Truck springs says the spring capacity is 1350 lbs and the arch is 7 1/2". There was a heavy duty spring available that was 1750 l...

Re: S-10 spring install question..overload leaf or no?

Thanks for the reply. It just seemed like there was some discussion about the thickness of the springs with the overload leaf. Perhaps it was for the fibreglass spring replacement... A quick measurement - from a straight edge c/c through the bolt holes to the centre of the spring is 7 3/4" I do...

S-10 spring install question..overload leaf or no?

I just received my new S-10 springs and have a question on leaving the overload leaf on or not. Will it fit in the original spring bucket and do I need it ?? It looks like some guys have the overload leaf and some do not. Pros or Cons ?? Bolts are ordered and pucks will be picked up this weekend. Ju...

Re: 5 inch astro lift for under $300

Thanks for the heads up on the ball joint relocation. I have the springs, bolts will be in Friday, and the spacers will be easy to get. I've been busy and won't get a chance to really get into the job for a few weeks, so the parts will be ready by then. 29.5" tires seem like they fit with min. ...

Re: 5 inch astro lift for under $300

Your van looks good with the lift and the Hi top. Did you need to do any trimming to get the tires to clear ??

I have the same springs ordered and have to decide on the tire size and make soon.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Drove along the icy roads to pic up the new Tru-cool transmission cooler.

So nice to have a AWD Safari, almost wish it would dump a foot of snow in town so I didn't have to go up the mountains to test the G-80 and AWD.

Re: NEW MEMBER FROM MANITOBA

Go CANADA, if we keep buying them, we can corner the market.

Perhaps change the stereotype from pickups to vans.

Re: new member, just saying hello

Hi, from another newby. So far so good. Lots of great info available for the vans, so have fun learning. Since the vans are not manufactured any more they should be going up in value....I know I value mine for all it can do for me. I was on the freeway tonite and had three Safaris in a row, two AWD ...

Re: Vancouver Safari, AWD

I'll do a bit of measuring before starting. Hopefully it will be somewhat obvious which way the springs fit to centre the axle.

These were the springs that I ordered from Marktainium on his DIY lift kit 2003 safari Post.

Re: Vancouver Safari, AWD

North Shore Offroad is close to home, but thanks for the heads up on Lowriders, Timeless.

H2Ojoe what height of lift did you get with those springs ?

And somewhere someone said something about installing the springs front to back from how they would be installed in a S-10. Any insight on this ?

For anyone interested, the cost of the springs, including shipping to Point Roberts is going to be $225.00
