Any way did the less expensive mode first which was changing the thermostat first ??/ So removed the 170 degree that I special ordered ( MOTORad, @ Auto Zone ) as a fail safe 170 deg. got down to the neck and sure enough it was wide open 8-[ ??/ 1 st clue there was no water in the hose when I discon...

Ditto on dropping the tank, at least the first time. Some vans don't have it but that protection plate is thick and sits too close to the fuel lines to cut through and not mess something up. Drop the tank and replace the pump, cut a hole and toss that plate in the trash. Or you could maybe lower th...
