Re: What Model Years Dutch Door are Compatabile w/ a 96

Yeah 96 should still have the inside/dashboard located open switch whereas 98 or 99 up they have the exterior keyed switch mounted next to the rear wiper. But the switch could easily be removed wired in or drilled for if necessary.

Re: Bought what I thought was a parts van.

Man I'm having flashbacks, my van used to look just like that $500 one interior and all. Not so much the case anymore.

Re: long time

I swear they had like a whopping 10 more horsies also, like an even 200 instead of the usual 190, and strictly had the 3:73 posi (gt4/g80) rears.

When you put brand new $800 tires on it after sitting for 6 months and drove 3 times since, just cause you felt it had been a while since you did something nice for it?

Mom's 2000 Safari AWD

Was back in Wisconsin recently visiting family, drove Mom's 2000 Safari AWD, with 84,000 miles, a bit as Dad has been "bugging" me the last couple months about it acting up. When taking tight turns the rear wheels act as if they are working against one another, they even kinda squawk. I be...

Re: thinking of getting a newer van

97 seems more fitting for your needs, will this be driven daily? it doesnt have that high of miles and seems 97 was a pretty good year, may cost you a little more in the long run with repairs but then again it may not. keep the extra money you would be spending on the 97 set aside for emergency repa...

Re: thinking of getting a newer van

when i bought my truck it had an 80 gallon transfer tank in the bed that i thought hey i could sell this no problem... not always the case. why do you want a cargo if you dont want the bins or rack? the 2000 isnt really even a cargo as its got windows.

Re: Removing decals

not entirely sure when they changed, probably around 95 or 96, but yes the newer vans are for sure vinyl as opposed to the old painted ones. i re-did the vinyl on mine years back. used a heat gun to remove it the paint was fine underneath but it would probably depend on the climate you live in. i pe...
